God's View:
Heb. 10:16-23
-We are no longer to be victims of our past when
I receive Lord Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. He paid for all the
sins I committed and for those sins committed against me. By faith
I accept the blood of Jesus which washes and cleanses my conscience
and daily I keep the conscience clean by the washing and study
of His word.
Hope:
Rom. 6:3-6
-I am freed from the pull, the guilt and the power
of sin because Jesus took my sins with Him to the grave. When
He died I died with Him. Now having my conscience cleansed, I
practice the 'new me' by renewing the spirit of my mind by His
word which tells me that I am now a new creation person.
Rom. 8:13 -I no longer live by or react to the promptings of the world, the flesh and the devil. I turn over all negative thoughts and feelings to the Holy Spirit Who puts them to death for me. At the same time God's life begins to flow thru me.
Rom. 10:8-10 -Simply believe and confess what the word says. Confession of the word reveals right thoughts and right actions and, the practice of same conforms me to God's standards.
Change:
Col. 3:1-3
-As a spiritual being I am to seek from God and
His word how to think and to think only on what God's word says:
that my sins are paid for and now I am citizen of heaven and should
begin to think heavenly thoughts, no longer of the earth.
Rom. 12:1-2 -You are to be rooted, built-up, and established in the Lord Jesus Christ and not be conformed to the world. No longer to think of the past but in the present, learning and practicing God's word in order to grow into maturity.
Matt. 7:5
-Practicing God's word means to begin with self and to
judge self first, removing sinful obstructions from your own life.
Then you will have the privilege and responsibility of restoring
others to victorious living.
